Heads Up for The new year

If it’s possible, it would be handy if your ice breaker could be something along the lines of : Name one thing that you’re grateful to God for from the last year, as this should provide a good platform for worship, and also the word section later.
Ruth Chapter 1 was used as the basis for the talk
Tope’s talk was focussed around helping us to see the need for us to have a clear idea of what it is we’re wanting God to do in us, through us, and for us. – Without vision we can just drift from one thing to the next, never really getting anywhere.
But, vision by itself isn’t enough – we need to be whole hearted in our commitment to God which will come about naturally through us having a good relationship with him (through getting into the bible and praying).
We will come against opposition though – whenever we are actively taking ground for God, Satan’s not going to like it. But, through having a close relationship with God we can have a peace in the middle of these circumstances; and since we know that God is faithful, we can have confidence that, if our goals are godly ones, that he is going to help us see them fulfilled.
Questions.
1. List our 3 things that you want God to do in this coming year (spend a bit of time on this, and get people to write them down, and then share afterwards – you might only want people to just say one from their list though depending on how your time’s going).
2. What do you think we should be doing to help us to be seeing these things (from Qu. 1) fulfilled?
3. What are the common kind of obstacles that we can face that can get in the way of us reaching our goals, and how can we overcome them?
Spend time praying for each other about the things they want God to do.
